Canada is set to become the first country in the world to introduce a written warning on every cigarette amid concerns about the effect of photo warnings on tobacco packages.

According to a report by The Guardian, Canada will be the first country in the world to make it mandatory to write a health warning on every cigarette.

Earlier, the policy of putting a graphic picture as a warning on the packaging of tobacco products was implemented in the country.

This policy, started two decades ago, has been adopted across the world.
"We have to address concerns that these messages have lost their impact," Mental Health Minister Carolyn Bennett said in a press briefing on Friday.

Writing a health warning on every tobacco product will ensure that this important message reaches everyone, including young people who take one cigarette at a time and do not see the warning on the packet.”

This proposal will be discussed from Saturday and the government feels that this rule can be implemented by the end of 2023.Bennett pointed out that each cigarette is proposed to have the message "There is poison in every puff".

However, it can also be changed.
